    Senior Research Associate, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences

Andriy Vasylchenko is a senior researcher at the Department of Logic and Methodology of Science. He got his university degree in applied mathematics at the Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Cand. Sc. degree in logic at the Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy, and PhD in Philosophy at the University of Manchester. He has been working at the Institute of Philosophy since 1991.
Andriy's teaching experience includes original courses in logic and philosophy given in NaUKMA (since 1992), EERC (2000-2007), and St. Thomas Aquinas Institute of Religious Sciences (since 2007).

As translator and editor, Andriy took part in quite a few translation projects; in particular, he was responsible for translating the works of Bertrand Russell, Charles Taylor, and Michael Loux. In addition, he is a co-author of the French edition of «Vocabulaire Européen des Philosophies» (2004) and the chief editor of its Ukrainian version «Європейський Словник філософій».

Research interests: modal logics; Neo-Aristotelian metaphysics; philosophy of mind and action.
